About Iwa

When I was a child, every birthday I was waken up by my parents who were singing "Happy Birthday" and holding the freshly made birthday cake. The cake was not eaten for breakfast, but it waited for the guests to come after dinner, mainly for the closest family.

imageMy mum was making the cakes at nights, when all kids were asleep. There were made of sponge cakes with layers of vanilla and chocolate custard between them and they were covered with chocolate with creamy signs. I rarely ate cakes from bakeries and when I did, it was mainly in order to find out what they were made of and how they were decorated.

I do not remember when I started to make my own cakes, but I remember the cake I made for my son's first birthday in 2000. It was a big birthday party and I was surprised my opinions of many guests who were saying: "I never ate birthday cakes, but this one is so delicious I can eat few pieces. That opinion is shared by many people even today.

After that I started to make cakes for my family, and for every single birthday of my son. Gradually there were more and more people who required specificaly my cake, not only looking good but also tasty. And I gradually gained more experience.
